I'm dealing with a situation in Texas and need some guidance.

denied reasonable accommodation for disability. I've been dealing with this for about 11 months now and the situation isn't improving.

I have worked at this company for 3 years. My position is non-exempt and I do not have a written employment agreement beyond the standard offer letter.

What are the risks if I pursue this? What's the likely timeline?

In my case, it took about 2-4 months to resolve. The key was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

Fwiw my neighbor dealt with this and said the lawyer made it go away fast.

Every time I see a post like this...

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should document everything. Obviously I don't know all the details of your situation though.

I specialize in this area of law. Here's my take on the legal issues.

There are several legal theories that could apply here. The strongest is probably OSHA regulations, which requires showing a safety violation.

Before taking legal action, consider sending a formal demand letter. In many cases, this alone resolves the issue.
