I'm in a difficult situation and trying to figure out my next steps.

AI art used without permission. I've been dealing with this for about 6 months now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves software/code I developed over the past 11 months. I do have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

I've dealt with this before.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

Here's where people usually go wrong is hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. I'd recommend being patient with the process instead.

I've handled similar cases. Here's my take on the legal issues.

There are several legal theories that could apply here. The strongest is probably the DMCA safe harbor provisions, which requires showing compliant with notice requirements.

I'd recommend documenting everything in writing from this point forward. Keep copies of all communications.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should file a complaint. Standard disclaimer: talk to an actual attorney for your case.

I spent way more time googling than I should have before just calling a lawyer fr fr.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should send a written demand. But don't just take my word for it, get real legal advice.
