Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

3D printing patented designs. I've been dealing with this for about 15 months now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves content I created over the past 31 months. I do have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

Has anyone been through something similar? What worked for you?

The #1 mistake I see here is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

I've dealt with this before.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

Fair use is a defense, not a right. The four factors (purpose, nature, amount, market effect) are balanced on a case-by-case basis. Transformative use helps, but it doesn't guarantee fair use.
