I'm dealing with a situation and need some guidance.

former employee took trade secrets. I've been dealing with this for about 16 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves content I created over the past 13 months. I do not have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

Am I overthinking this or is this a real legal issue worth pursuing?

I went through almost the exact same thing.

The thing that gets people is having everything documented. I'd recommend keeping a detailed timeline instead.

This is one of those situations where even a quick legal consult pays for itself.

I've dealt with this before.

What worked for me was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. It took 2-4 months but was worth it.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's labor board? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

I eventually got results by escalating/manager. It took 1-3 months but was worth it.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

I ended up having everything documented, which cost about $3-6 but saved me a lot more in the long run.
