I'm in a difficult situation and trying to figure out my next steps.

fanfiction and derivative works. I've been dealing with this for about 14 months now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves software/code I developed over the past 27 months. I do not have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

What are my legal options here? Is it worth pursuing?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

What worked for me was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. It took 2-4 months but was worth it.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's legal aid society? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.
