I'm in a difficult situation and trying to figure out my next steps.

can I sell AI-generated images commercially. I've been dealing with this for about 16 months now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves content I created over the past 19 months. I do not have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

Am I overthinking this or is this a real legal issue worth pursuing?

Licensed attorney — a few thoughts. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The key question is whether the applicable statute of limitations has run. Depending on your jurisdiction, you typically have 17 U.S.C. § 106 years for this type of claim.

I'd recommend documenting everything in writing from this point forward. Keep copies of all communications.

I've seen this play out several times in my field.

In my case, it took about 2-4 months to resolve. The key was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter.

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's bar association? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.
