I'm in a difficult situation and trying to figure out my next steps.

AI art used without permission. I've been dealing with this for about 2 months now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves original creative work over the past 8 months. I do have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

Am I overthinking this or is this a real legal issue worth pursuing?

Have you tried reaching out to your state's labor board? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

I practice in this area. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, the DMCA safe harbor provisions. Your state may provide additional protections.

Before taking legal action, consider sending a formal demand letter. In many cases, this alone resolves the issue.

I keep hearing about cases like this.

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

You could try handling it yourself but honestly a lawyer speeds things up 10x.
