Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm not sure what my options are.

client reselling my photography. I've been dealing with this for about 14 months now and the situation isn't improving.

This involves software/code I developed over the past 10 months. I do not have documentation proving my ownership and timeline.

What's the typical outcome in situations like this?

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

Literally had this conversation with my lawyer last month.

What worked for me was having everything documented. It took 3-6 months but was worth it.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

I ended up hiring an attorney to send the initial letter, which cost about $2-4 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

This is a great example of why reading the terms of service matters. I know it's tedious, but at minimum, check: (1) arbitration clauses, (2) liability limitations, (3) auto-renewal provisions, (4) cancellation procedures, and (5) class action waivers. These 5 sections tell you most of what you need to know.
