"Envato's business model is clever but creates real traps for the unwary. The Elements subscription seems like unlimited access, but it's really unlimited access to create license obligations during your subscription period. Cancel, and those downloads become useless for new work.

The project registration system is both a feature and a burden. It creates documentation of your licenses, which is good. But it also means you need to maintain a habit of registration, and if you forget, you have no proof of license. Many users download items thinking they'll use them later, but without registration, 'later' never comes.

My recommendation: for one-off projects, consider Market purchases with perpetual licenses. For high-volume work, Elements makes sense if you maintain subscription and register diligently. Always download license certificates and keep records outside of Envato's system."
