"Mailchimp's market dominance has bred a concerning disregard for user rights. The combination of vague content policies, aggressive enforcement, and restricted data access during disputes creates a perfect storm for marketers who depend on their platform.

The most troubling aspect is the list export restriction during account issues. Your subscriber list is YOUR asset - you collected those emails, you built those relationships. Holding that data hostage during a dispute is, in my view, unconscionable. Unfortunately, their terms technically allow it.

My recommendation: always maintain a regular backup of your subscriber list outside of Mailchimp. Don't wait until there's a problem. Export your list monthly and store it securely. If you're doing any affiliate or promotional content, consider platforms with clearer, more permissive policies from the start."
