California Civil Code § 1950.5 | Recover Wrongfully Withheld Deposits
California Law Requires:
Landlords must return security deposits within 21 days of move-out (CA Civil Code § 1950.5).
If they don't, you may be entitled to up to 2x the deposit amount in statutory damages,
plus actual damages and attorney's fees.
