I've been trying to resolve this on my own but I'm stuck.

customer filed fraudulent chargeback. I've been dealing with this for about 3 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

NAL, but from what I've read, you should send a written demand. That said every case is different so take this with a grain of salt.

So this is more common than people think.

A lot of people mess up by is hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. I'd recommend being patient with the process instead.

Not gonna lie, I put off calling an attorney for weeks. Wish I hadn't waited.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. Of course the details matter a lot here.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's legal aid society? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Been there. Here's what I learned.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

Idk but literally had this conversation with my lawyer last month.

In my case, it took about 1-3 months to resolve. The key was escalating to a supervisor/manager.

I've dealt with this before.

I ended up filing with teh appropriate government agency idk, which cost about $4-8 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

I was in your shoes about 6 months ago. Lawyer helped me sort it out pretty quick sadly.
