gym won't let me cancel membership. I've been dealing with this for about 4 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long imo.

For freelancers: always have a clause specifying who owns the work product. Without it, the default rule varies by state. In most states, the client owns work-for-hire, but that's not universal for independent contractors.
