UPDATE on the stripe freeze thread. filed CFPB complaint apr 25 with full documentation. stripe released the full $47k yesterday (may 1) — about 12 days from cfpb filing. they cited "additional review completed."

so total resolution time was 14 days from initial freeze. paddle is now my primary processor. keeping stripe as backup. lessons learned: diversify processors EARLY. CFPB is the magic word.

great outcome. CFPB complaints work because stripe doesn't want regulator attention. documented escalation usually trumps support tickets.

two-processor strategy is the way. never put 100% volume through any single payments provider. credit card processing is essentially a toll booth and you don't want a single point of failure.

congrats on getting through. add a 3rd backup (helcim, paddle, lemonsqueezy) for true resilience. processors fail. plan accordingly.
