Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

other party claiming force majeure. I've been dealing with this for about 6 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 10 months ago. I have a copy of the original agreement. The total amount in dispute is approximately $77,000.

What's the typical outcome in situations like this?

I had a similar issue and ended up consulting with an attorney. It was worth the $200-300 for the initial consultation just to understand my rights.

Attorney here. Here's my take on the legal issues.

There are several legal theories that could apply here. The strongest is probably common law contract principles, which requires showing unconscionable.

One important thing — there are strict deadlines for filing these claims. Don't wait too long.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run.
