Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

contract has unconscionable terms. I've been dealing with this for about 14 months now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 10 months ago. I am not sure I have the original signed copy. The total amount in dispute is approximately $108,000.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

What worked for me was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. It took 2-4 months but was worth it.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. But honestly you should verify this with someone who knows your state's laws.

Update: filed in small claims court last week. Total cost was $75 filing fee + $20 for service by the sheriff. No attorney needed. The defendant (a major corporation) has to send a representative to appear in person. Most of the time they'd rather settle than send someone to small claims court over a few thousand dollars.
