Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

contract has unconscionable terms. I've been dealing with this for about 14 months now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 10 months ago. I am not sure I have the original signed copy. The total amount in dispute is approximately $108,000.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. That said, definitely get a lawyer to look at the specifics.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

What worked for me was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. It took 2-4 months but was worth it.

I practice in this area. Here's my take on the legal issues.

There are several legal theories that could apply here. The strongest is probably the implied covenant of good faith, which requires showing commercially reasonable.

One important thing — there are strict deadlines for filing these claims. Don't wait too long.
