Tbh i'm dealing with a situation and need some guidance.

software license audit threat. I've been dealing with this for about 3 months now and the situation isn't improving.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

I've handled similar cases. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, common law contract principles. Your state may provide additional protections.

One important thing — there are strict deadlines for filing these claims. Don't wait too long.

My buddy went through something identical.

I ended up filing with the appropriate government agency, which cost about $4-8 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

Following this thread — I could have written this post myself. Same exact problem honestly.

Not surprised at all tbh.

A lot of people mess up by is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead.

I think half the threads here are about this exact issue.

In my case, it took about 4-8 months to resolve. The key was filing with the appropriate government agency.

Classic scenario honestly.

A lot of people mess up by is escalating to a supervisor/manager. I'd recommend following the formal complaint procedure instead tbh.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should send a written demand. Your mileage may vary depending on the specifics.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should document everything. Obviously I don't know all the details of your situation though lol.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

Honestly, i work in this industry and unfortunately this is very common. The good news is that when people actually push back with legal representation, companies usually settle.

Fwiw not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

What worked for me was having everything documented. It took 3-6 months but was worth it fr fr.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

In my case, it took about 4-8 months to resolve. The key was filing with the appropriate government agency.
