I'm at my wits end here. Stripe has been holding $15,247 of MY money in a "rolling reserve" for 3 months now. My ecommerce business sells custom furniture - been processing with them for 2 years with zero chargebacks.
Out of nowhere in September they emailed saying they were implementing a 10% rolling reserve due to "elevated risk" - no specifics, no warning, nothing. Now its December and they still wont tell me when the money gets released.
I've emailed support probably 15 times. Every response is the same copy-paste BS about how reserves "protect both parties" and they'll "review periodically." Called their phone number twice - both times the rep just read from the same script.
Questions for anyone whos been thru this:
- How long does stripe rolling reserve typically last? I've seen people saying anywhere from 90 days to forever
- Is there any way to actually get a human to review my account?
- Should I just switch processors at this point? Worried they'll hold even more if I try to leave
This is seriously affecting my cashflow and I have suppliers waiting to be paid. Any advice appreciated.
