moved my STR direct booking to stripe to avoid airbnb fees. month 2 stripe puts me on "high risk" with 2-day rolling reserve and 25% holdback. lots of friction with guests. is this normal for STR?

STR has high chargeback rates (guest disputes about cleanliness, nights remaining unused after cancellation). stripe risk teams flag the MCC. you can negotiate the reserve down with provable history.

alternative: hostfully or guesty have built-in payments designed for STR. lower friction.

also: clear cancellation policy on your booking site, signed e-rental agreement before each stay, and you'll have evidence to win chargebacks. that helps your stripe risk profile over time.
