I've been trying to resolve this in Florida on my own but I'm stuck.

landlord won't fix broken heating. I've been dealing with this for about 12 months now and the situation isn't improving.

I have been in this property for 4 years. My monthly rent is $4,135. I have a written lease.

Am I overthinking this or is this a real legal issue worth pursuing?

NAL, but from what I've read, you should send a written demand. Caveat: I'm not your lawyer and this isn't legal advice lol

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

I spent way more time googling than I should have before just calling a lawyer.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's consumer protection office? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.
