Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm not sure what my options are.

home inspector missed major defect. I've been dealing with this for about 10 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

I have already tried to resolve this directly but got conflicting advice.

What's the typical outcome in situations like this?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

I think half the threads here are about this exact issue.

In my case, it took about 2-4 months to resolve. The key was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter.

Not a lawyer (at least in my experience), but I have direct experience with this.

The thing that gets people is hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. I'd recommend being patient with the process instead.

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's labor board? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Just consulted with an attorney about my case. The initial consultation was free and they took it on contingency (no upfront cost, they take a percentage of the recovery). If your case has strong merits, many attorneys will work on contingency.
