Quick background on my situation — any input appreciated.

condo association special assessment dispute. I've been dealing with this for about 11 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

I have been renting for 3 years. My monthly rent is $2,840. I have a written lease.

Has anyone been through something similar? What worked for you?

Have you tried reaching out to your state's attorney general? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

I've dealt with this before.

In my case, it took about 4-8 months to resolve. The key was filing with the appropriate government agency.

I specialize in this area of law. Here's my take on the legal issues.

This is a common situation and the law is fairly clear. Under state landlord-tenant code, in violation of notice requirements.

The practical consideration here is cost vs. potential recovery. For disputes under $10K, small claims court is often the best route.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

What worked for me was escalating to a supervisor/manager. It took 1-3 months but was worth it.
