I'm dealing with a situation and need some guidance.

payment processor classified me high-risk. I've been dealing with this for about 15 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

The amount being held/disputed is approximately $16,381. I have tried contacting customer support 9 times with no resolution.

Do I have a strong case? What should my next steps be?

I practice in this area. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, Regulation E. Your state may provide additional protections.

Before taking legal action, consider sending a formal demand letter. In many cases, this alone resolves the issue.

I've dealt with this before.

What worked for me was having everything documented. It took 3-6 months but was worth it.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. That said, definitely get a lawyer to look at the specifics.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

I ended up filing with the appropriate government agency, which cost about $4-8 but saved me a lot more in the long run.
