Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

vendor missed delivery deadline. I've been dealing with this for about 15 months now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 15 months ago. I have a copy of the original agreement. The total amount in dispute is approximately $3,000.

What are the risks if I pursue this? What's the likely timeline?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

What worked for me was escalating to a supervisor/manager. It took 1-3 months but was worth it.

I practice in this area. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, the implied covenant of good faith. Your state may provide additional protections.

I'd recommend documenting everything in writing from this point forward. Keep copies of all communications.
