Quick background on my situation — any input appreciated.

title issue discovered after closing. I've been dealing with this for about 5 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

I have been renting for 2 years. My monthly rent is $3,431. I have a written lease.

What are my legal options here? Is it worth pursuing?

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

The trap most people fall into is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead no cap.

I specialize in this area of law. Here's my take on the legal issues.

This is a common situation and the law is fairly clear. Under state landlord-tenant code, in violation of notice requirements.

I'd recommend documenting everything in writing from this point forward. Keep copies of all communications.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's legal aid society? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

I was in your shoes about 6 months ago. Lawyer helped me sort it out pretty quick.

Literally had this conversation with my lawyer last month.

In my case, it took about 4-8 months to resolve. The key was filing with the appropriate government agency.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. But honestly you should verify this with someone who knows your state's laws.
