Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm not sure what my options are.

construction defect in new home. I've been dealing with this for about 7 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

I have been renting for 6 years. My monthly rent is $1,537. I have a written lease.

Has anyone been through something similar? What worked for you?

Attorney here. Here's my take on the legal issues.

There are several legal theories that could apply here. The strongest is probably the implied warranty of habitability, which requires showing uninhabitable.

You should consult with a local attorney who handles these cases. Many offer free initial consultations.
