Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm not sure what my options are.

ghostwriter wants credit. I've been dealing with this for about 6 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 6 months ago. I am not sure I have the original signed copy. The total amount in dispute is approximately $29,000.

What are my legal options here? Is it worth pursuing?

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

In my case, it took about 3-6 months to resolve. The key was having everything documented.

Licensed attorney — a few thoughts. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, common law contract principles. Your state may provide additional protections.

The practical consideration here is cost vs. potential recovery. For disputes under $10K, small claims court is often the best route.
