I've been trying to resolve this on my own but I'm stuck.

Etsy holding funds for 45 days. I've been dealing with this for about 11 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

The amount being held/disputed is approximately $34,622. I have tried contacting their legal department 4 times with no resolution.

What's the typical outcome in situations like this?

I work in this industry and unfortunately this is very common. The good news is that when people actually push back with legal representation, companies usually settle.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. That said, definitely get a lawyer to look at the specifics.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's labor board? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

I've handled similar cases. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The key question is whether the applicable statute of limitations has run. Depending on your jurisdiction, you typically have the EFTA years for this type of claim.

I'd recommend documenting everything in writing from this point forward. Keep copies of all communications.

I've seen this play out several times in my field.

What worked for me was having everything documented. It took 3-6 months but was worth it.
