Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm not sure what my options are.

music producer claiming all royalties. I've been dealing with this for about 6 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 22 months ago. I have a copy of the original agreement. The total amount in dispute is approximately $61,000.

Am I overthinking this or is this a real legal issue worth pursuing?

I specialize in this area of law. Here's my take on the legal issues.

Based on what you've described, you likely have a viable claim under common law contract principles. The standard is whether a reasonable person would find the conduct unconscionable.

One important thing — there are strict deadlines for filing these claims. Don't wait too long.

I work in this industry and unfortunately this is very common. The good news is that when people actually push back with legal representation, companies usually settle.
