Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

contractor abandoned project halfway. I've been dealing with this for about 9 months now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 14 months ago. I have a copy of the original agreement. The total amount in dispute is approximately $41,000.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

In my case, it took about 1-3 months to resolve. The key was escalating to a supervisor/manager.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's bar association? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Following this thread — I'm in a very similar situation. Would love to hear how it turns out.
