Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

estimated tax penalty avoidance. I've been dealing with this for about 15 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

This comes up a lot.

In my case, it took about 3-6 months to resolve. The key was having everything documented.

So this is more common than people think.

Most folks screw this up by is escalating to a supervisor/manager. I'd recommend following the formal complaint procedure instead.

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

In my case, it took about 4-8 months to resolve. The key was filing with the appropriate government agency.

Following this thread — I could have written this post myself. Same exact problem.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

Escalating actually worked for me/manager. It took 1-3 months but was worth it.

You could try handling it yourself but honestly a lawyer speeds things up 10x.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should check your state's specific laws. That's the general rule anyway, exceptions exist.

I talked to a lawyer when this happened to me. Worth every penny.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should file a complaint. Take the above with a huge disclaimer that I'm just some person on the internet.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's attorney general? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Ngl nAL, but from what I've read, you should document everything. But don't just take my word for it, get real legal advice imo.

Every time I see a post like this...

I demanded to talk to a manager and suddenly they could help/manager. It took 1-3 months but was worth it.
