Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm not sure what my options are.

AI lawyer chatbots replacing attorneys. I've been dealing with this for about 15 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

I have already tried to resolve this directly but did not get a clear answer.

What are my legal options here? Is it worth pursuing?

I've handled similar cases. Here's my take on the legal issues.

This is a common situation and the law is fairly clear. Under the relevant statute, actionable.

The practical consideration here is cost vs. potential recovery. For disputes under $10K, small claims court is often the best route.

I've dealt with this before.

I ended up hiring an attorney to send the initial letter, which cost about $2-4 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

Been there. Here's what I learned.

In my case, it took about 2-4 months to resolve. The key was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter.

Not surprised at all tbh.

Don't make the same mistake I did -- is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead tbh.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

I ended up filing with the appropriate government agency, which cost about $4-8 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

Here's where people usually go wrong is having everything documented. I'd recommend keeping a detailed timeline instead fwiw.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's labor board? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

What worked for me was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter. It took 2-4 months but was worth it.

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer lol.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

Unpopular opinion: sometimes it's not worth litigating, even if you're in the right. If the disputed amount is $500 and attorney fees would be $3,000, consider whether the principle is worth the cost. Write-off the loss and learn from it.

I use AI tools (Claude, GPT) for drafting contracts and demand letters in my practice. Important caveat: these are DRAFTS that I review, edit, and take responsibility for. Using AI output directly without attorney review could constitute unauthorized practice of law if you're not a lawyer.
