Quick background on my situation — any input appreciated.

state tax when working remotely from different state. I've been dealing with this for about 10 months now and the situation isn't improving.

I have already done some research online but got conflicting advice.

Do I have a strong case? What should my next steps be?

Honestly? I'd get a consult. Changed my whole perspective when I did.

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

In my case, it took about 3-6 months to resolve. The key was having everything documented.

I work in this industry and unfortunately this is very common. The good news is that when people actually push back with legal representation, companies usually settle.

I've dealt with this before.

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

My buddy went through something identical.

In my case, it took about 2-4 months to resolve. The key was hiring an attorney to send the initial letter.

I mean been there. Here's what I learned.

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager which is wild, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run sadly.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's attorney general? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.
