Looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

angel investor wants board seat. I've been dealing with this for about 4 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

I have already consulted briefly with a lawyer but the other party is not cooperating.

What are the risks if I pursue this? What's the likely timeline?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

NAL, but from what I've read, you should send a written demand. That's the general rule anyway, exceptions exist.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's attorney general? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

The #1 mistake I see here is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead.

Been there. Here's what I learned.

Most folks screw this up by is having everything documented. I'd recommend keeping a detailed timeline instead.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.
