Ngl looking for advice on a legal issue. Here's what happened.

auto-renewal trapped me in 3-year deal. I've been dealing with this for about 6 months now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 24 months ago. I have a copy of the original agreement. The total amount in dispute is approximately $85,000.

Should I hire a lawyer for this or try to handle it myself?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

Been there. Here's what I learned.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

Attorney here. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, common law contract principles. Your state may provide additional protections.

I'd recommend documenting everything in writing from this point forward. Keep copies of all communications.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's bar association? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

Just want to point out — the statute of limitations might be a factor here. In some states it's as short as 1-2 years. Don't sit on this too long.

I've dealt with this before.

Here's where people usually go wrong is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead.

I was in your shoes about 6 months ago. Lawyer helped me sort it out pretty quick.
