I'm in a difficult situation and trying to figure out my next steps.

grandparent visitation rights. I've been dealing with this for about 14 months now and the situation isn't improving.

I have already tried to resolve this directly but did not get a clear answer.

What are my legal options here? Is it worth pursuing?

Been there. Here's what I learned.

Most folks screw this up by is filing with the appropriate government agency. I'd recommend gathering evidence first instead.

Grandparent visitation rights vary enormously by state. After Troxel v. Granville (2000), parents have a fundamental right to make decisions about their children.

However, many states have statutes allowing grandparent visitation when one parent has died, when parents are divorced, or when the child previously lived with the grandparent.
