I've been trying to resolve this on my own but I'm stuck.

ghostwriter wants credit. I've been dealing with this for about 8 weeks now and the situation isn't improving.

The contract was signed 21 months ago. I have a copy of the original agreement. The total amount in dispute is approximately $50,000.

What are my legal options here? Is it worth pursuing?

This happened to me too. Have you tried filing a complaint with the relevant agency? In my case they investigated and it got resolved without needing a lawyer.

Been there. Here's what I learned.

The biggest mistake people make in this situation is having everything documented. I'd recommend keeping a detailed timeline instead.

Licensed attorney — a few thoughts. Here's my take on the legal issues.

The legal framework here involves both federal and state law. At the federal level, common law contract principles. Your state may provide additional protections.

You should consult with a local attorney who handles these cases. Many offer free initial consultations.
