I'm in a difficult situation and trying to figure out my next steps.

DeFi yield farming tax treatment. I've been dealing with this for about 9 months now and the situation isn't improving.

I have already consulted briefly with a lawyer but got conflicting advice.

What's the typical outcome in situations like this?

So basically have you tried reaching out to your state's consumer protection office? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services no cap.

My buddy went through something identical.

I eventually got results by escalating/manager. It took 1-3 months but was worth it.

Honestly? I'd get a consult. Changed my whole perspective when I did.

Ok so i've dealt with this before.

I ended up escalating to a supervisor/manager, which cost about $1-3 but saved me a lot more in the long run....

Not a lawyer, but I have direct experience with this.

What worked for me was filing with the appropriate government agency. It took 4-8 months but was worth it.

Have you tried reaching out to your state's bar association? They sometimes have free resources or mediation services.

I went through almost the exact same thing.

I ended up filing with the appropriate government agency, which cost about $4-8 but saved me a lot more in the long run.

Similar thing happened to me. The attorney I spoke with laid out options I didn't even know existed.

The key lesson I learned from my experience: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Screenshots, emails, certified letters, photos — all timestamped. When it came time to prove my case, having a clear paper trail made all the difference.

For anyone whose exchange account got frozen: most exchanges will work with you if you provide the KYC documents they're asking for. The delay usually happens when automated systems flag your account and there's no human reviewing it.
